Devil's Food Cake Imperial Stout

Did you know?

Inspired by Devil’s Food Cake, we brewed this high gravity stout with real roasted hazelnuts, two different varietals of cacao nibs, Indonesian vanilla, and rested it on cypress wood. Named in honor of the best devil from the 80s, the dear, sweet Sardo Numpsie.

Tasting Notes

This English-inspired Imperial Stout was naughty this year and indulged in the infusion of roasted hazelnuts from Oregon’s recent 2015 harvest, two unique cacao nibs from Central America, and Indonesian vanilla. Aging the beer on cypress wood added a cake-like note to the beer, giving it an overall impression of devil’s food cake with a hazelnut expression.
